The Hot Sardines to Return to Wharton Center This March
Called "One of the best jazz bands in New York today" by Forbes Magazine, THE HOT SARDINES have a unique musical recipe: hot jazz and sultry standards to make straight-up, foot-stomping music.
THE HOT SARDINES, part of the MSU Federal Credit Union Jazz at Wharton Center Series, will be featured on Thursday, March 30, 2017 in the Cobb Great Hall. Tickets are available at the official source to purchase Wharton Center tickets online, whartoncenter.com, at the Auto- Owners Insurance Ticket Office, or by calling 1-800-WHARTON.
THE HOT SARDINES invoke the sound of nearly a century ago; yet stay right in step with the current age. Songs from the '20s, '30s, and '40s, sprinkled with rich New Orleans sounds, and a dash of Parisian flair create a vibrancy that captivates audiences. The dramatically diverse age range of THE HOT SARDINES' fan base reflects their success at making the classics relevant to current audiences. THE HOT SARDINES have taken the hot jazz scene in New York and other cities by storm, and they are sure to enthrall East Lansing as well.
The powerhouse musicians, along with the talented accompanying tap dancer, play hot jazz with a little glamour, a little grit, and a lot of passion. The band has had a slow and steady rise to success over the past several years. Lead singer, Miz Elizabeth met Evan "Bibs" Palazzo at an open jazz jam in Manhattan, at which time fate took over in shaping them into the band they have become today. THE HOT SARDINES, who were a sellout in 2015, are sure to bring the house down once again!
THE HOT SARDINES latest record, French Fries + Champagne, is available now through Decca and Universal Music Classics.
