Slipstream Presents Audience Interactive THREE SISTERS

By:

Slipstream proudly presents Chekhov's masterpiece about a dying class, The Three Sisters. In this new adaptation, the men have been removed and one actor serves as the narrator and the often-forgotten "fourth sister", Natasha. A true ensemble piece, this production features a total of four actors (three title sisters and the narrator); and each night the audience decides which three actors will play which three sisters.

The virtuoso cast features Slipstream Associate Artistic Director Luna Alexander, Tiaja Sabrie and Kaitlyn Valor-Bourque as the rotating sisters. Victoria Rose Weatherspoon takes on the role of Narrator/Natasha. The timeless set is designed by Ryan Ernst, who also designs the lights. The costumes and direction are by Bailey Boudreau, with Izzi Eyles serving as assistant director.

At the heart of this production is a story of four women, all trying to find their places in a world ruled by men. It would seem we have come a long way from those times, but the simple desire to be accepted or to work "as men do" remain societal struggles now. And the idea of moving forward, the unbridled hope that something better is coming, permeates our social media feeds and conversations in our current socio-political climate. The irony of this classic play about women is that the audience learns the most about the sisters from what the men say. Slipstream happily turns the tables by saying the male lines through the lens of the sisters and narrator. And as the actors rotate each show, you'll have to come more than once to see just how different the sisters can be!

The production runs May 13th through June 4th. Performance dates vary by week, so be sure to check the dates on the website when buying tickets. Tickets are $12 in advance only and available via www.slipstreamti.com or by emailing InsideTheSlipstream@gmail.com . Slipstream Theatre Initiative is located at 460 Hilton in Ferndale.
