Single Tickets Now on Sale for LITTLE WOMEN: THE MUSICAL

By:

Tickets are on sale for the 3rd show of SMT's 39th season, the family classic- LITTLE WOMEN: THE MUSICAL! And, as an added bonus, we've given our loyal patrons a discount!

Produced nationally and internationally, LITTLE WOMEN has been praised by critics for its ambition in adapting such a well-known story for the stage. "I have seen a couple productions of the show done over the past 10 years and thought it was an inspiring and delightfully entertaining experience each time," says SMT's Managing Artistic Director, Chris Mayse. "I believe it complements our season nicely, with our theme of identity running through each of our productions."

This timeless, captivating story is brought to life in this glorious musical filled with personal discovery, heartache, hope, and love. Based on Louisa May Alcott's life, LITTLE WOMEN follows the adventures of sisters Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy March. Jo is attempting to sell her stories for publication, but the publishers are not interested. Jo's friend, Professor Bhaer, tells her that she has to do better and write more from herself. Taking this advice, Jo weaves the story of herself, her sisters, and their joined experience in growing up during the American Civil War. The powerful score that accompanies this story soars with the sounds of a young America finding its voice.

The original Broadway production starred Tony Award-winner Sutton Foster (THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, ANYTHING GOES- revival), as Jo, and Brady Bunch alumni Maureen McGovern (Jan Brady), as Marmee- the matriarch of the March clan.

Directed by Andrew Coopman (who appeared in last season's production of SOUTH PACIFIC), with Musical Direction by Alyssa Taubin, LITTLE WOMEN: THE MUSICAL embodies the complete theatrical experience; guaranteeing a night filled with laughter, tears, and hope!
