Sea Tea Improv, Hartford's favorite comedy troupe, will perform at Central Baptist Churst from 8:15 - 9:00 pm as part of First Night Hartford. First Night occurs on the evening of December 31st to ring in the New Year. The show is included with the admission cost of $10 for adults and $2 for kids age 3-15.

For the third consecutive year, Sea Tea Improv will perform a show of family-friendly improv scenes and games based on audience suggestions. Every Sea Tea Improv show is completely unique and built around the ideas of the audience. Last year's games included a retelling of the story of a family vacation gone wrong, a party with Mr. Clean, and a number of songs.

First Night is, according to its website, "Hartford's premier New Year's Eve party, a multicultural, artistically unique, alcohol-free New Year's experience with countless professional musicians, artists, performance groups and exhibits that inspire thousands of people of all ages to attend each year. It’s also an affordable way for everyone to ring in the New Year. This is the 23rd year for First Night Hartford, so be sure to come and join the fun and keep the tradition going! The day includes two spectacular fireworks shows in Bushnell Park that can be seen throughout the city by thousands of residents and visitors at 6 PM and midnight." Tickets can be purchased at http://www.firstnighthartford.org/purchase_tickets.html.

Sea Tea Improv's next monthly show will be held on Sunday, December 11th at 7 pm in City Steam’s Brew Ha-Ha Comedy Club at 942 Main Street in Hartford. Reservations can be made at (860) 525-1600. Audience members may order food and drinks off of City Steam’s menu throughout the performance. As always, the show is free. These shows are made possible in part by a Community Events Grant from the Greater Hartford Arts Council.

The shows at City Steam are only one facet of the troupe’s hectic performance
schedule: in 2010 they performed over 50 individual shows, at big-name venues
such as the Wadsworth Atheneum, Hartford Stage Company, the Mark Twain House, Playhouse on Park, and First Night, as well as in small venues such as La Paloma Sabanera and the Wethersfield Corn Fest.

Sea Tea Improv was a runner-up for HYPE's Hartford’s Best New Business of 2010 Award and Best Business in 2011. They were a finalist for the Reset Social Enterprise grants.
