Little Door Theatre Presents William Shakespeare's OTHELLO

Little Door Theatre will present their unique take take on William Shakespeare's Othello. This story traces the tragic downfall of Othello, a Moor and a mercenary who became general of the Venetian armies. He angers Iago, one of his high ranking soldiers, when he passes him over for promotion in favor of the untested gentleman soldier Michael Cassio. In his jealousy, Iago seeks an opportunity to ruin both men and finds it by utilizing his skills in manipulation. William Shakespeare's Othello is a timeless, tragic tale of love, deceit, jealousy and murder. In a twist on the classic, LDT will be setting the tragedy in a puppet theatre, with Iago the "puppet mastermind" behind the whole operation.

This production contains a highly talented Metro-Detroit based cast, including: Craig Ester (Othello), Danielle Peck (Desdemona), Mark Zito (Iago), Stephanie Stoiko (Emilia), Roman D'Ambrosio (Roderigo), Tim Beson (Cassio), Emily Thomson (Bianca), JM Ethridge (Brabantia), Andrew McMechan (Duke of Venice), Kt Bennett (Lodovica), Eva Trudeau (Montana), and India Jackson (Clown/Herald). Director Shannon Hurst is beyond ecstatic to be working with such a professional, hard-working cast to build this show! She has been dreaming of directing this show for years, and cannot wait to share their work with LDT audiences.
