LEBOWSKI BASH Comes To Royal Oak 3/3

By:

Shakespeare Royal Oak will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the iconic film, The Big Lebowski, Saturday March 3 with an epic fundraising event at Emagine Royal Oak. The Lebowski Bash will celebrate all things Lebowski. From White Russians, to bowling, to costume contents, and of course a screening of the film, this epic event will commemorate the movie's 20th anniversary as a unique fundraiser for the 18th season of Shakespeare Royal Oak.

Ed Nahhat, Shakespeare Royal Oak founder and Big Lebowski fan, says the anniversary party is a perfect fit for this small professional theatre company because the underdog Dude character, played by Jeff Bridges, persists and overcomes: "The Dude reveals to us the true nature of life: there are strikes and gutters, but the Dude abides. That's just like, my opinion, man."

Doors to The Lebowski Bash will open at 6:00pm with a screening of the film at 8:00pm. Tickets are $35 which includes the movie screening, complimentary bowling on Emagine's Star Lanes, a cool auction, one crazy costume contest judged by WJR's Marc "Rosey" Rosenthal, cash bar with food and beverages for purchase including, of course, White Russians. Tickets are on sale now online at www.shakespeareroyaloak.com. 100% of ticket proceeds will go to support Shakespeare Royal Oak. Emagine Royal Oak is located at 200 North Main Street, Royal Oak MI 48067.

Since 2001 Water Works Theatre Company has presented Shakespeare Royal Oak and other award-winning productions. Water Works enhances the quality of life in the community by offering Michigan's premier outdoor professional Shakespeare event in Royal Oak's Starr Jaycee Park.
