Motor City-based guitar legend, Jim McCarty, and his latest band, Mystery Train, have been added to the holiday lineup for Gary Hoey's "Ho Ho Hoey Tour 2011" at the City Theatre on Saturday, November 26 at 8 p.m.

Tickets ($27) are on sale now and can be purchased at OlympiaEntertainment.com, The Fox Theatre, Joe Louis Arena and City Theatre box offices, Hockeytown Authentics in Troy (without service charge) at all Ticketmaster locations and Ticketmaster.com. Jim McCarty first surfaced as a member of Mitch Ryder's backing band the Detroit Wheels. Since, McCarty has been recognized for his signature heavy blue-rock style that has led him to record with industry icons such as Jimi Hendrix and Bob Segar. McCarty has also performed with the Buddy Miles Express, Cactus, the Rockets, the Detroit Blues Band and is currently fronting his own group, Mystery Train. In September of 2010, McCarty was most recently inducted into the Canada South Blues Society "Living Blues Museum" located in Windsor, Ontario.

Gary Hoey's popular "Ho Ho Hoey" series of Christmas CDs and on-air station visits during the holiday season have become an annual staple at hundreds of radio stations nationwide. Moreover, his live interpretation, aptly named "Ho Ho Hoey's Rockin' Holiday Show" continues to grow new fans each year - so much so that Hallmark's musical greeting cards feature two of Gary's "Ho Ho Hoey" classics.

Hoey is also known for his signature versions of covers ("Hocus Pocus," "Lowrider," "Misirlou," etc.) his latest release, Utopia, features 12 all new, all original songs. The album features Hoey's widely recognized guitar skills, while showcasing his growth as a singer and songwriter.

"Utopia's been a long time coming," explains Hoey. "Utopia took over 2 years to make because I wanted time to develop my songs on tour and then bring that to the studio. That is why I started my indie label, Wazoo Music Group, so I could have that creative control over my music and be able to give it to my fans on my own terms."

Hoey has toured North America throughout the year opening shows for Jeff Beck, Styx, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and Bret Michaels. Additionally, Hoey was Camp Counselor at Rock N Roll Fantasy Camp, a reality TV series filmed and produced by Mark Burnett that aired on VH1 Classic.

With a collection of 17 albums and five top 20 Billboard hits, it's clear to see why Gary Hoey is listed in the top 100 greatest guitar players of all time. Whether Hoey plays rock, blues, surf or Christmas, Hoey's command of each style makes his live show one of the most exciting on the circuit today.

City Theatre is located inside of Hockeytown Café at 2301 Woodward Avenue, Detroit, MI 48201.
