Go Comedy! Announces Third Annual BITS Tournament
Go Comedy! Improv Theater announces the return of the BITS Tournament.
Beginning Wednesday, April 25 and running through Wednesday August 15, Go Comedy! will host the third annual Bailout Improv Tournament Spectacular (BITS). Sixteen improv teams from across metro Detroit will compete every Wednesday night at 8pm in a single elimination tournament for a $1002 cash prize. Each week, two teams will face off on the Go Comedy! stage with just 22 minutes to impress the audience with their skills. At the end of the hour, the audience will choose by secret ballot the winning team which will continue in the tournament. The audience favorite will be announced each week during the 9pm show that evening.
As in 2011, the BITS Tournament will end with the opening celebration of the 2012 Detroit Improv Festival - Detroit's biggest improv festival in mid August.
Registration for BITS is now open and continues through 11:59pm, Thursday, April 5. A $40 per team entrance fee includes registration and postcards for teams to promote their performance(s) in the tournament. Fees are paid AFTER a team is selected for the tournament. Interested improv teams can register by sending their team name, team contact, email & phone number, a list of team members, and additional information including links to websites or videos to bailout@gocomedy.net. BITS is a fully improvised tournament where all improvisational forms are accepted, but no written material is allowed.
The 16 selected teams to participate in the third annual BITS Tournament will be announced on Wednesday, April 11 during the 8pm Go Comedy! performance of The Gauntlet.
