Created from humble beginnings - sitting around a kitchen table in a New York studio loft - COMPLEXIONS CONTEMPORARY DANCE has experienced a meteoric rise to the forefront of the contemporary ballet collective. Founded in 1994 by Desmond Richardson (who has performed with Michael Jackson and Madonna) and Dwight Rhoden (who has performed with Prince and Lenny Kravitz), both of whom will be present on stage for the East Lansing engagement. The company became the first to foster the most diverse cast of artists and dancers of its time - one that would revolutionize choreography and expose the ballet world to a mix of methods, styles, and culture to create a new spectacle of human movement.
