Representing a collision of artistic disciplines, 35MM is a collection of "snapshot stories" are woven together while the audience is immersed in the photography that inspired it. 35MM brings the connection between pleasures visual and aural into focus, creating an amazing multi-sensory emotional journey.

Just over a year ago, a kickstarter fundraiser successfully funded a group of actors, writers, and musicians to bring their show to NYC and record a cast album. It was shortly there after that AKT Artistic Director, Angie Kane Ferrante, stumbled upon the album.

"I was looking for something new and exciting, and I found it in 35MM. The music was begging to be listened to, to be experienced. I couldn't pass it up."

Composer and Lyricist, Ryan Scott Oliver, wrote 18 songs based on the images of New York City Photographer, Matthew Murphy. The color saturated images inspired songs like Crazytown, which plays out a young man's nightmares, and You Make Me Happy; a glimpse at somewhat snarky couple completely in love.

The show also visits serious issues like domestic violence and dealing with the loss of a loved one, but takes a walk on the light side as well with songs like Twisted Teeth and The Ballad of Sara Berry. What do all of these things have in common? Just as art is the expression of the human imagination, these songs are an expression of the human condition. Don't miss your chance to be a part of this exciting new production!
