(02/04/2013) - As the winds of the season change, the School of Theatre at Florida State proudly presents their second semester of dazzling productions. The highly anticipated upcoming performance will be Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater's intoxicating musical Spring Awakening directed by the Head of the MFA Directing Program, Fred Chappell. This show will run from February 22 - March 3 in the Fallon Theatre, on the corner of Call and Copeland streets.

(01/07/2013) - Performances for the upcoming national tour of FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL, the stage adaptation of the 1983 hit film that defined a generation, begin January 1st and run through January 6 at Pittsburgh's Heinz Hall. At a recent press event, Mayor Luke Ravenstahl officially announced January 1st as FLASHDANCE day. Following the Pittsburgh engagement, FLASHDANCE will embark on a national tour to more than 25 cities in the next seven months with additional bookings to be announced soon. Miami's most eagerly anticipated stage production will begin performances at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County on Tuesday, January 1st for a limited engagement of one week through Sunday, January 6th. Opening night is Tuesday, January 1st at 8 p.m. MARY POPPINS is part of the Broadway in Miami 2012-2013 subscription season presented by Bank of America.

(03/06/2012) - Last night, Jim Caruso's Cast Party made it's debut at The Crest Theatre in Delray Beach, Florida for the first of two nights. The ‘extreme open mic,' hosted by Jim Caruso and musical director Billy Stritch, celebrated and showcased local Florida talent, including singers Chloe Dolandis, Zoralis Calle Perez, Lily Forte, Sarah Dreben, guitarist Billy Rogan, pianist Joey Lieber and impressionist Sharon Daniels.

(03/01/2012) - Travelers at the Miami Int. Airport were treated to a surprise performance by Florida Grand Opera singers on Feb. 29th, courtesy of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation's 'Random Acts of Culture' program. A total of six surprise opera performances took the airport by storm. Singers sat and stood casually among other bystanders waiting for flights in terminal D. Then, suddenly, the music began and was shortly followed by seven vocalists performing ' Libiamo' (the Drinking Song) from Verdi's La Traviata.

(03/01/2012) - Broadway star Tom Wopat is enjoying the Florida sunshine this week as he takes to the stage at the Colony Hotel in Palm Beach. Returning to the Royal Room for the first time since 2007, Tom Wopat first came to public attention in the late-1970s as the freewheeling Luke Duke on the TV series The Dukes of Hazzard. In 1977, he made his Broadway debut in Cy Coleman's I Love My Wife. Wopat went on to perform in the Tony Award-winning City of Angels and Guys and Dolls. He received a Tony nomination for creating the role of Frank Butler in the Broadway revival of Annie Get Your Gun, opposite Bernadette Peters. In 2008, Wopat returned to Broadway as Tom Hurley in A Catered Affair with Faith Prince and Harvey Fierstein. 2011 saw him again on Broadway starring as Frank Abagnale Sr. in the new adaptation of Catch Me If You Can.
