Volunteers Tansform the State Theatre into the Paris Opera House 2/4

Bay Street Players will open Phantom, The American Musical Sensation February 4, 2011. This musical will run four weeks through February 27, 2011 at the historic State Theatre in downtown Eustis. Phantom is generously sponsored by Bowen Radson Schroth, PA.

Tony award-winning composer Maury Yeston and author, Arthur Kopit of Broadway's Nine and Titanic have transformed Gaston Leroux' novel The Phantom of the Opera into a sensation that enraptures audiences and critics with beautiful songs and an expertly crafted script. It is constructed around characters more richly developed than in any other version, including the original novel. This mesmerizing Phantom is traditional musical theatre in the finest sense and is sure to capture your heart.

Artistic Director David W. Clevinger serves as the Scenic Designer as well as the Director of the production. His creative team includes: William Dumas as Lighting Designer; Kate Olsen & Patrick Adams as Costume Coordinators and a crew of community volunteers assisting in all areas of the production. Bay Street Players is pleased to welcome newcomer Beau Mahurin as Musical Director.

Phantom opens February 4 and closes February 27. Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening performances begin at 8:00 p.m. Sunday matinee performances begin at 2:00 p.m. Also, there is one Wednesday performance on February 16 at 8:00p.m., and one Saturday matinee performance on February 26 at 2:00 p.m. Patrons attending the opening night production on February 4 are invited to a complimentary reception with the cast following the performance at Olivia's Coffeehouse & Bistro.

Tickets are $20.00 except on Wednesday or Thursday when they are $17.00. For reservations, call the Box Office at 352.357.7777 or visit www.baystreetplayers.org to purchase tickets online. Group discounts, gift certificates, student rates, and multi-pass tickets are available. Located at 109 N. Bay Street, Eustis, the Box Office hours are: 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 11:00a.m.-3:00 p.m. on Saturday performance days.

Bay Street Players is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit community theatre celebrating 36 seasons of live theatre in the historic 1922 State Theatre in downtown Eustis.
