The Garden Theatre is pleased to announce auditions for the Florida premiere of the new play The Bikinis: A New Musical Beach Party, written by Broadway directors/producers Ray Roderick and James Hindman. Auditions will be held Saturday and Sunday, December 10-11 at the Garden Theatre (160 West Plant Street in Winter Garden). This production seeks to cast four adult females who can sing, dance, and act.

All ethnic types are welcome.

1-5pm Callbacks (by invitation only)

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
• Each performer should be ready to perform a monologue lasting approximately 1 minute.
• Each performer should be ready to perform 16 bars (approximately 30 seconds - 1 minute) of
both a ballad and an up-tempo Pop/Rock song from 1960s or 1970s. Be prepared to sing the
entire song if asked and please provide sheet music for accompanist or karaoke track CD. No
mp3 players, please.
• Sides will be provided at the audition and performers should be prepared to read sides if
requested.
• Each performer should bring two headshots/résumés.
• Each performer should know their schedule availability for the rehearsal and performance
period beginning in early January through February 26.
Performances of The Bikinis are Fridays through Sundays, February 10-26, 2012. Directors Ray
Roderick and Ryan McKinney, who will be coming from New York, will be present at auditions.

CAST BREAKDOWN
JODI: 35-50ish. Annie's younger sister. Originally from Paramus, NJ. In control and passive
aggressive. A corporate success with a failed marriage. Vocally gravitates to the pop world.
ANNIE: 35-50ish. Jodi's older sister. Still a bit of a hippie. Also, originally from Paramus, New
Jersey. Never married. Took care of her parents at Sandy Shores RV Beach Resort in Florida.
Folk rock and roller, and lover of causes.KARLA: 35-50ish. Jodi and Annie's "fun loving" cousin from Philly. As a teenager, she was wild.

And she still likes to stir it up. Loves her husband of 25 years. Vocally, lives in the rock/pop
world.
BARBARA: 35-50ish. Their best friend from Staten Island. Says what she thinks with no
apologies. Never thought she could love anything more than The Bikinis and R&B, until she met
her husband, Benny. African American and Hispanic performers are strongly encouraged to
audition for this role.

ABOUT THE BIKINIS
With a show that promises to get everyone dancing in the aisles, The Bikinis, or "The Jersey
Girls," relive their heyday and beyond, beginning the summer of 1964, the night four
inseparable friends got their name, winning the Blemar Beach Talent Contest, wearing just their
bikinis! This new play by Broadway producers Ray Roderick and James Hindman opened to rave
reviews at the Queens Theatre in New York. Under the direction of Ray Roderick and James
Hindman, the Garden Theatre is producing The Bikinis in its Florida premiere!
