The Bach Festival Society Hosts Summer Sing 8/3 In Tiedtke Concert Hall

By: Aug. 03, 2009

The Bach Festival Society is proud to host Summer Sing on Monday, August 3, 2009, at 7:00pm in the Tiedtke Concert Hall. Summer Sing will give community members a taste of what it is like to be a member of the Bach Festival Choir and experience the music of the Bach Festival Society in a new way-by actively participating in the creation of the music. This event is open to all who love to sing, regardless of experience or skill level.

Artistic Director and Conductor, Dr. John Sinclair, has chosen Mozart's Requiem as the Summer Sing work. This staple of Bach Festival repertoire is a favorite of the Bach Choir and will be performed as part of the 75th Annual Festival by the Bach Festival Choir and Orchestra. Music can be downloaded for free starting July 20, 2009, on the Bach Festival Society's website: www.bachfestivalflorida.org. This event is free and open to the public-no advance tickets or reservations are needed.

The Bach Festival Society, located in Winter Park, Florida, is one of the longest continuously operating Bach Festivals in the country and among America's great oratorio societies. The Bach Festival Society brings the highest caliber of classical music to Central Florida. Performances are held in the intimate settings of Tiedtke Concert Hall and Knowles Memorial Chapel on the beautiful campus of Rollins College.

For more information regarding the upcoming season or to order tickets, please call the Bach Festival Society at 407.646.2182 or visit us online at www.bachfestivalflorida.org.
