The Colony Hotel, Palm Beach Continues 10th Anniversary Cabaret Season with Steve Tyrell, March 1-26

The Colony Hotel - which The Palm Beach Post has hailed as "probably the best place for cabaret on the planet" - continues its 10th annual cabaret season in its popular Royal Room Supper Club with one of Manhattan's top headliners:

March 1-5, 8-12, 15-19, 22-26

Steve Tyrell

Back by Popular Demand

Steve Tyrell is returning for his fourth engagement in the Royal Room, where he made his debut in January 2008. The Hollywood Reporter has hailed the singer/songwriter as "a welcome addition to the list of Sinatra heirs," and when pianist and song stylist Bobby Short passed away suddenly, NYC's legendary Café Carlyle turned to Tyrell to keep Short's three-decade tradition of celebrating The Great American Songbook alive.

Tyrell's latest album ("This Guy's in Love") continues the traditional jazz standard bearer's remarkable return to the artistic side of a career in music that goes back to the 1960s. Many music fans, of course, were introduced to Tyrell via the movies (the 1991 Steve Martin hit Father of the Bride) in which he appeared and performed "The Way You Look Tonight" on the soundtrack, and its 1995 sequel Father of the Bride Part II, which contained his soundtrack recordings of "Give Me the Simple Life" and "On the Sunny Side of the Street." As a songwriter, Tyrell's works have been recorded by Ray Charles, Diana Ross, and Elvis Presley.

Reviews of Steve Tyrell:
+ New York Times: Steve Tyrell is "a good ole boy from Houston with an aw-shucks charm and an easy-going machismo, who worships at the temple of Ray Charles... Mr. Tyrell knows how to warm-up the elegant (Café Carlyle) until it becomes a party destination where he is the host and all feel welcome."

+ Burt Bachrach: "Listening to (Steve Tyrell) is like opening a window and getting a breath of fresh air."

+ Woody Allen: "He sings the great songs the way they should be sung."

+ Rosemary Clooney: "Here it is, someone young and talented to sing these songs as though it's their very first time... Bravo, Steve."

Cost to Attend Steve Tyrell:

+ Tuesday through Thursday - $125 for dinner & show; $80 for show only

+ Friday and Saturday - $145 for dinner & show; $100 for show only; and $75 for second show at 10 p.m.
