Rescued Pets Star in Popovich Comedy Pet Theater April 19-23

By: Apr. 20, 2011

Popovich Comedy Pet Theater to run April 19 - April 22 at 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM and April 23 at 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM

The world-famous Popovich Comedy Pet Theater is a family-oriented show spotlighting the physical comedy, juggling and balancing skills of internationally acclaimed circus performer Gregory Popovich, and the extraordinary talents of his performing pets. The show features acts like the Dog Classroom, Amazing Housecats and the Animal Train - plus surprise appearances from other animal performers, such as ferrets, white rats and trained doves.

Popovich, a Russian native and former star of the Moscow Circus, produces and stars in Comedy Pet Theatre, together with his furry four-legged family. Currently, the show features 16 cats and 10 dogs - all rescued from animal shelters throughout the country.

"I have actually nicknamed my show ‘A Second Chance,' because that is what my cats and dogs have been given, a second chance at life," says Popovich. The animals all live with Popovich and his wife, along with several other "camera shy" pets. He promotes the message of adopting animals from shelters as he tours throughout the United States and abroad.

Comedy Pet Theatre has appeared on "The Late Show with David Letterman" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," and has been featured in The New York Times Magazine, People Magazine and Las Vegas Magazine. The show returns to the Lyric, after a successful extended run in Las Vegas. Come and see for yourself what all the howling is about!

Partial Proceeds for this event will benefit the Humane Society of The Treasure Coast.
