Get "On the Scene" at Gulfshore Playhouse's Production of Tartuffe

Gulfshore Playhouse is not only bringing the best professional theatre to Naples audiences, it is making the audiences part of the creative process.  Their new educational and interactive experience "On the Scene" will be offered for their upcoming production of Moliere's classic comedy, "Tartuffe."

"On the Scene" offers it's participants the rare chance to attend a closed rehearsal, preceded by an interactive personal look into the creative process with Director Kristen Coury and followed by a luncheon with the actors on Saturday, March 28th.   Participants in this exciting and ground-breaking "insider's" program will also receive an official script and a ticket to the sneak preview performance on Thursday April 2nd followed by an interactive talk back session with the cast and creative team.  In addition, those involved will receive a 10% discount on tickets for additional guests who will also be welcome to attend the post-show discussion.  The cost of the program is $75 per person.

"I'm delighted to be able to continue to serve the community with the ability to get this close to one of our great classic comedies, brought to life by a cast of extremely talented actors from far and wide including England, New York, and Florida," states Founding Artistic Director Kristen Coury.

Tartuffe is a lecherous conman who pretends to be a supremely pious religious adviser.  Firmly ensconced in the family home of the wealthy Orgon, he bamboozles his benefactor all the while trying to marry his daughter, seduce his wife and scrounge the deed to the property.

The cast, the largest to date in a Gulfshore Playhouse production, features: Steve Brady, Richard Crawford, Kevin Duda, Katrina Foy, Val Kuffel, Wayne LeGette, Amy McKenna and Anna Stone.  Producing Artistic Director Kristen Coury will direct the production.

Gulfshore Playhouse is Naples' first self producing-professional theatre company, currently producing exclusively at the Norris Center in downtown Naples.  Gulfshore Playhouse is devoted to creating nationally noteworthy professional theatre - from the powerful and inspiring classics, to innovative new works.  It is unwaveringly committed to bringing the best theatre professionals in our country to the stages and the classrooms of Southwest Florida.

Through its educational program, ART SMART, which is currently up and running in both Collier and Lee County, theatre-based workshops are brought into classrooms during the school day to teach curriculum content.  Correlating with the Sunshine State Standards, these workshops teach literacy and numeracy skills while fostering self-esteem, self-confidence and cooperative learning.  ART SMART is now offering Adult Classes at the Norris Center, for ages 14 and up.

Enrollment for "On the Scene" is still open.  Those interested can call 239-566-8394 for more information.  "Tartuffe" will be presented exclusively at the Norris Center, 7558th Avenue South Naples, April 1st through the 11th.  Tickets start at $30 and are available by calling 1- (866) 811-4111 or at www.gulfshoreplayhouse.org
