NOISES OFF Opens Garden Theater Season 10/15

By:

The Garden Theatre is pleased to present the Jester Theater Company comedy Noises Off, October 15 through November 7 at the Garden Theatre (160 West Plant Street). These performances are sponsored by Universal Orlando Foundation.

Lloyd Dallas is the director of a theatre company. He's desperately trying to get his production together, despite the best efforts of the cast, the crew, and Lady Luck. We follow the production from final rehearsals, through opening night, and onto the tour; as with any group of actors forced to work closely together for any great length of time, romances and arguments are bound to break out. Quite often, what's happening on stage is nothing compared to what's happening backstage.

Jester Theater Company returns to the Garden Theatre to kick off the 2010-2011 season. Noises Off was originally scheduled to close the Garden Theatre's 2008-2009 season, but had to be postponed due to the economic downturn. The cast and crew have waited patiently to stage this production for the past two seasons. Cast member and Garden Theatre Vice-Chair Keith Smith said, "The opportunity to work with this talented cast and production team to perform Noises Off in a venue like the Garden Theatre was worth waiting two years for!"

Noises Off is one of the largest shows to be mounted in the Garden Theatre space to date. The huge rotating set is notorious for being a silent character in the show. This Jester Theater Company cast includes Marty Stonerock as Dotty/Mrs. Clackett, Jason Horne as Garry, Jay Hopkins as Lloyd, Tyler Cravens as Tim, Becky Eck as Poppy, Megan Stailey as Brooke, Sarah Lee Dobbs as Belinda, Keith Smith as Frederick, Don Fowler as Selsdon. Many of these actors have appeared in previous productions at the Garden Theatre.
