School is over, so let the fun begin! At the Maltz Jupiter Theatre, children can have fun at summer camp, see a show or audition to perform in Palm Beach Idols, the popular talent show.

Summer camps at the Conservatory of Performing Arts get under way Monday, June 7, and offer a variety of one- and three-week camps, perfect for educating and energizing kids while allowing flexibility for vacation schedules. Cost is $200 per week, per child. Pre-care is available from 8-9 a.m. for $25 a week. After-care, from 3-5 p.m., is $50 a week. To download registration forms, go online to www.jupitertheatre.org and click on the Education menu. Scroll down to Summer Camps and select forms. For more information, call (561) 575-2672 (COPA).

Students in the three-week camps also will present fully staged productions of two shows, High School Musical and Seussical Jr.

High School Musical, based on the Disney Channel Original Movie and its sequels, is the story of two members of rival cliques who audition for lead parts in their high school musical, and divide the school in the process. Despite other students' attempts to thwart their dreams, the pair resists peer pressure and rivalry. It will be presented by senior campers at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 25-26. Tickets: $20 adults, $15 students. Call (561) 575-2223.

Seussical Jr., which had its Broadway debut in 2000, is based upon the most popular books of Dr. Seuss. The show, which has such characters as The Cat in the Hat, Horton, Sam I Am and The Grinch, will be presented by junior campers at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, July 30-31. Tickets: $20 adults, $15 students. Call (561) 575-2223.

Auditions for the 2010 Palm Beach Idols will be held, by appointment only, from 12-8 p.m. Saturday, June 19. To schedule, call (561) 743-2666, Ext. 113. Performers of all ages - singers, dancers, musicians, performers and more - are encouraged to audition for a chance to win cash prizes.

Palm Beach Idols will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 24. There will be three categories: youth, teen and adult. Each category will have three finalists decided by panel of local celebrity judges. Actress Jo Ann Pflug, of Match Game and Quincy fame, will be among this year's judges. The final winners will be determined by an audience vote. Palm Beach Idols is a major fund-raiser for the Conservatory of Performing Arts. Tickets: $25. Phone: (561) 575-2223.
