Las Olas Art Fair Kicks Off 2013 Today

By:

Plans are underway for the 25th Anniversary of Fort Lauderdale's signature nationally ranked juried outdoor art fair, the Las Olas Art Fair Part I returns today, January 5th and the 6th, 2013. Festival promoter Howard Alan Events has produced this popular show for the past 25 years drawing the finest talent in the country and attracting locals and tourists who look forward to the vast array of original artwork on display and for sale. Partial proceeds from the festival benefit the Las Olas Association. Admission is free and open to the public.

Many of the exhibitors have been participating in this show since its inception including West Palm Beach based Jewelry Designer Don Marksz and Fort Lauderdale Mixed Media artist Kevin Kichar. All of the artists, juried by an independent panel of expert judges and hand-selected from hundreds of applicants based on quality and diversity, will be on-site during the two-day fair available to discuss their art and inspiration. All of their artwork is original and handmade in America.

The artistic media represented at the event include paintings, life size sculptures, photography, glass, wood, jewelry, collage and ceramics; prices are set to suit all budgets and range from $25 hand-designed earrings to $30,000 metal sculptures. Art enthusiasts will be engaged and intrigued by the eclectic mix of art that will transform Las Olas Boulevard into an outdoor gallery.

Howard Alan Events, a Florida-based company, develops and presents art and craft shows throughout the country. For the past 25 years, Howard Alan Events has produced some of the nation's finest juried art shows, including more than 40 venues each year such as the Downtown Aspen Art Festival (Aspen, CO), Beaver Creek Art Festival (Beaver Creek, CO), Chicago Tribune North Michigan Avenue Art Festival (Chicago, IL), and the Las Olas Art Fairs, (Fort Lauderdale, FL).
