Gratitude And Joy Exhibit Comes to Bailey Contemporary Arts
Bailey Contemporary Arts (BaCA) in Pompano Beach presents Gratitude & Joy, a juried photo exhibition featuring the works of sixteen photographers selected by Sharon Lee Hart, the head of photography and an Assistant Professor of Art at Florida Atlantic University. The exhibit will be on view in the Bailey Contemporary Arts' West Gallery/ Blooming Bean Coffee Roasters from December 7, 2018 through January 25, 2019. The free opening reception is December 7, from 6pm-9pm during Old Town Untapped.
"As we approach the holiday season, we want to invite our community to reflect on the meaning of Gratitude and Joy," said Phyllis Korab, Cultural Affairs Director. "Some people view "joyful" as moments during times of success and career satisfaction, others as quality time spent with family. The selected photos in this exhibit are a diverse mix of themes, offering surprising concepts and providing insightful reflection."
Featured artists include Anna Caruso, Candy Childrey, Jamaal Clark, Sherri Cohen, John Cote, Ana Cristina de Ouro Preto Cox, Dick Francis, Paul Gold, Alexandra Hrachovsky, Eleanor Huang, Dan Perez, Phoenix, Katie Prock, Andy Royston, Jenna Regal, and Nancy Torres.
About the Juror
Sharon Lee Hart visually explores relationships between humans, other animals, and the natural world. Her work has been exhibited throughout the U.S. and internationally. Hart's photographs are in several permanent collections, including The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. She maintains an active studio practice and is the Head of Photography and an Assistant Professor of Art at Florida Atlantic University.
