Garden Theatre Welcomes UFC Jazz Ensemble I 10/3

By:

Conductor Jeff Rupert and several skilled jazz students from the University of Central Florida will offer two free performance at the Garden Theatre (160 West Plant Street) Sunday, October 3 at 1pm and 3pm. These performances are sponsored by CenturyLink and will overlap the Winter Garden Heritage Foundation's MusicFest, an annual outdoor weekend music festival that takes place on Plant Street in downtown Winter Garden.

These performances are general admission and will be open to the public. The first 299 people for each performance will receive a complimentary ticket; tickets will be available beginning Wednesday, September 15 and will only be available in person at the Garden Theatre Box Office (160 West Plant Street). For questions or additional information, contact the Garden Theatre Box Office at 407-877-GRDN (4736) or visit gardentheatre.org.

This will be the third year in a row for the UCF Jazz Ensemble to perform in Winter Garden. This year will be an intimate concert with a 17-piece student ensemble. Jazz Legend Dee Dee Bridgewater attended the 2010 UCF Jazz Festival and on her NPR music show JazzSet with Dee Dee Bridgewater commented, "Bottom line: Jazz is alive, and you can study it in Orlando."
