Free PlayReadings at Key West's Waterfront Playhouse

By: May. 03, 2006

This is a FREE play reading series showcasing the winners of Waterfront's
Local Playwrighting contest. All readers, directors and others involved are
volunteering their services.

  NEW PLAYS IN MAY
Produced by The Key West Players/The Waterfront Playhouse
  May 9, 16, and 23, 2006 - Curtain 8:30 PM

Join them for their series of original play readings by local playwrights
on Tuesdays in May at the Waterfront Playhouse.  The Key West Players,
in accordance with their Mission Statement, encouraged local writers to
submit scripts for consideration last fall.  The selected plays will be
presented on May 9, 16, and 23rd.  These plays, from one-acts to full
length, some comedic, others unsettling, are all thought-provoking and
cover a wide range of topics.

On May 9th, three one-act plays will be read:  Harry and Consuelo
written and directed by Joe DeLuca; Misfortune written by Susan Jimbo and directed by Antonia Gaynor; and A Tale of Two Boobs written by Dee and Cee and directed by Gerri Louise Gates.  The full length play
Tradewinds by Craig Roberts and directed by Chris Tittle is spotlighted on May 16th.  Rounding out the readings is Mark Watson's The Times directed by Vanessa McCaffrey on May 23rd.

All readings are at 8:30 PM on Tuesday evenings.  Admission is FREE
with open seating.  There will be a post-performance talkback session
with each playwright.  Mark your calendar and make an effort to support
new and local talent by attending these performances.  For further
information, call the box office at 294-5015
