Florida Theaters Watching Wilma-Performances May Cancel

By: Oct. 19, 2005

Hero, Bryan Norcross)

"All interests in the Florida Keys and the Florida peninsula should closely monitor the progress of extremely dangerous Hurricane Wilma," the National Hurricane Center in Miami said.

As of now, all of us in Florida, certainly in South Florida, should be checking our hurricane preparedness--and monitoring this storm system very closely.  It looks like Hurricane Wilma (at category 5-packing the power of several nuclear bombs) may hit Florida by Friday night or sometime Saturday.

Ticket holders be aware!  Performances for this coming Friday night, Saturday matinee, Saturday night and Sunday are most likely to be effected.  VERIFY that the performace you are planning to attend is indeed still taking place.  Simply telephone the venue or you can often find the information online.  There WILL likely be performances cancelled Friday night and Saturday afternoon, as a precaution, even if Wilma has not yet hit land in Florida.  So be aware and double check that performances are taking place.  Most important, keep you and yours safe.

Hurricane Andrew Hero, Bryan Norcross, is leading South Florida through the threat of Hurricane Wilma.  You can follow Bryan's forecasts (and view a hurricane "must do and have guide")  by visitng www.cbs4.com  or, in South Florida, tuning in to your local CBS affiliate.  Stay safe, dear reader.
