Florida Grand Opera To Perform Repertoire At NSU Art Museum, Today

Florida Grand Opera (FGO)and NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale will present the fifth installment of "Art Inspired Song" on Thursday, November 17, at 3:30pm. This popular series of public concerts features FGO Young Artists performing pieces reflecting thematic and time period components from the Museum's current exhibition.

For the November 17th concert, FGO's Young Artists will perform music complementing the exhibition Belief + Doubt: Selections from the Francie Bishop Good and David Horvitz Collection. The program, entitled The Life and Love of a Woman: Music for Voice by Women Composers, will highlight repertoire written by female composers, including selections by Amy Beach, Margaret Bonds, and Lori Laitman. Justin Moss of the Florida Grand Opera will introduce the program and provide commentary connecting the repertoire to the exhibition.

The concert is free with museum admission. Museum admission is $12 for non-members; $8 for seniors and students with ID; free for children under 12. Fees are waived for museum members as well as FGO donors and subscribers.

Prior to the concert, concertgoers can enjoy a traditional tea in the Museum at 2:30pm. Cost of the tea is $30 for Museum Members, FGO donors and subscribers; $36 for non-members. This price also includes admission to the performance. Advance reservations required.
