Cole Porter Musical ANYTHING GOES to Hit Maltz Jupiter Theatre

The high-energy tap-dance extravaganza ANYTHING GOES is set to sparkle on the Maltz Jupiter Theatre stage for two nights only!

With performances May 13 and 14, ANYTHING GOES features 46 local teens in grades 6 -12 from the Maltz Jupiter Theatre Goldner Conservatory of Performing Arts. Directed by Conservatory instructor Lea Roy, the musical features choreography by Broadway veteran Brian Andrews and music direction by John Mercurio.

Featuring music and lyrics by Cole Porter and book by Guy Bolton and P.G. Wodehouse (later revised by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse), the 1934 musical tells the story of a mad-cap voyage on an ocean liner bound from New York to London. The story weaves the tale of Billy Crocker, a stowaway in love with heiress Hope Harcourt, who is engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. Nightclub singer Reno Sweeney and "Public Enemy No. 13" Moonface Martin help Billy in his quest to win the girl of his dreams.

Brimming with such memorable songs as "You're the Top," "I Get a Kick Out of You" and "ANYTHING GOES," the musical will feature a full professional orchestra, toe-tapping tunes and unforgettable high-energy tap dancing.

"Brian Andrews' brilliant tap choreography and the students' dazzling performance will leave theatregoers spellbound and inspired by the talents of our young performers. The musical features design elements from a host of industry professionals, including scenic and properties design by the Theatre's properties master Casey Blanton, sound design by the Theatre's resident sound designer Marty Mets, lighting design by Ardean Landuis and costume design by Jerry Sturdefant.

"We're proud to offer students the unique opportunity to receive a complete professional theatre experience when they take part in our programs," said Julie Rowe, the Theatre's director of education. "Our students train with Broadway professionals and then are able to experience professional production values: sets, costumes, lights and a full orchestra. Enrollment fees are all-inclusive, covering all costumes and performance-related costs."
