Broward Cultural Division Announces Artistic Residency Program for Broward Artists and Creative Professionals

By:

Broward Cultural Division (BCD) and the Housing Authority of the City of Fort Lauderdale (HACFL) have partnered to offer on-going, artistic residencies and creative programs at high profile community centers owned and operated by HACFL throughout Broward County.

Artists and creative business people are invited to apply for rent-free venues to engage in work for up to one (1) year. The Deadline is Monday, October 24, 2016 at 11:59 pm.

Creative work must support the work of artists, business people, members of the general public and HACFL residents. For this program, creative work is defined as diverse artistic, cultural, educational, and historical programs, presentations and activities that contribute to a vibrant multi-cultural, economically-viable community. This may include: classes, workshops, roundtables, clinics, guest speakers, resources for professional support (which shall consist of business professionals and other consultants to provide technical advice and support); and individual consultation on arts-related topics.

The creative residency locations are as follows: Cannonball Studio for Creatives and Alan Club Apartments Community Center; BAJA Writers Room and Dr. Kennedy Homes Community; The Megaphone (mobile presentation space) and Center; and Art House - Community Art Studio.
