NEW THEATRE ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR 2007-2008 SEASON, INCLUDING HEARING-IMPAIRED ACTORS:  July 9 and July 16

Coral Gables' New Theatre will conduct two days of Equity Principal Auditions for its 2007-08 Main Season on Monday July 9 and Monday, July 16 from 2 pm - 10 pm (non-Equity may attend and are welcome to the auditions).

Under the artistic direction of Ricky J. Martinez, New Theatre's 22nd season remains true to its mission to provide a forum for new works by American playwrights, often making their world premiere at the innovative theatre.  The 2007-2008 season, which follows the Theatre's current Shakespeare & Friends Festival, runs from September 28, 2007 through May 4, 2008 and includes four world premieres.

The auditions are by appointment, and each actor will be given a five-minute time slot.  Included in the casting are two roles for hearing-impaired performers.

Actors need to prepare two contrasting monologues totaling three to four minutes and provide an updated headshot or resume, as well as any foreseeable conflicts.  Professional attire is strongly recommended, and actors should call the Production Stage Manager at (305) 443-5373, ext 305 to schedule a five-minute audition slot.

Although Equity performers have priority over time slots, Equity performers without appointments will be accommodated as time permits. A Sign Language interpreter will be available on July 16 only, and actors are asked to notify the Production Stage Manager in advance if an interpreter will be needed.
