Asolo Rep's My Fair Lady Cast Hosts A Holiday Cabaret
Asolo Repertory Theatre has just announced the addition of a very special holiday show to its
December lineup: MY FAIR HOLIDAY, featuring the remarkable cast of My Fair Lady sharing some of their favorite songs of the season in an intimate evening of cabaret. The event will be performed one night only on December 18, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. and it promises to be a wonderful eclectic mix of jazz, folk, pop and Broadway tunes ranging from traditional holiday fare to some soon-to-be classics. This talented cast will present their own version of classics like "Baby, It's Cold Outside", "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas", "O Holy Night" and many, many more.
Join us in the Mertz Theatre to hear all the favorite holiday standards sung by Andrea Prestinario, Jeff Parker, Sean EffingerDean, Peggy Roeder, Joel Hatch, Carol Kuykendall, Ann Morrison and more.
My Fair Lady ensemble member Rob Lindley will orchestrate and emcee the event. "With all of these talented singers in our cast it would almost be a shame NOT to do some sort of evening like this,” said Lindley. “With so many of us being from out of town and away from our families, this is also a great opportunity for us to pull together and create some wonderful holiday memories with each other and for the Sarasota area audiences to enjoy." Lindley has produced, directed and emceed large cabaret events for many Chicago organizations including Court Theatre, Writers'
Theatre, Porchlight Music Theatre, Chicago Cabaret Professionals and the Chicago Humanities Festival. He is also an After-Dark Award winner for cabaret performance and won a Jeff Award in 2010 for Best Actor in a Revue.
“Asolo Rep is incredibly lucky to have such an enormously talented cast here for our production of My Fair Lady,” said Producing Artistic Director Michael Donald Edwards, “I’m delighted to feature them in this special holiday cabaret, which will provide a unique opportunity for our audience to celebrate the season with the entire Asolo Rep family.”
Tickets for MY FAIR HOLIDAY range from $20-$40 and there will be a champagne reception following the cabaret for an additional charge. Audience members attending My Fair Lady can receive a 10% discount if they purchase their tickets on the same day they see the production.
