The ALLIANCE THEATRE Lab has announced its return to South Florida theatre with the production of Strange Snow by Stephen Metcalfe, opening May 28, 2009, and running through June 14.

Metcalfe's haunting piece deals with David, a shattered veteran who has withdrawn into the relative safety of his sister Martha's house, walling off that part of his past and using alcohol to blur The Edges. But when Megs, a frenetic and wild platoon buddy from the war, appears on David's doorstep, both David and Megs must confront who they were before, who they've become, and whom they left behind. David fights to keep his barriers from crumbling as Martha and Megs discover that the creation of love brings rebirth to the empty landscape of isolation.

The production, directed by Artistic Director Albert Acevedo, stars the brilliant local talent of Cliff Burgess, Andy Jean-Gilles, and Jennifer Toohey. The Los Angeles Times called the play "a romance as much as a taut psychological drama," "a sad commentary on history repeated." The Christian Science Monitor lauds the show's "basic humanity and the credibility of its affirmation."

Performances will be held Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 pm, and Sundays at 7 pm, at the Main Street Playhouse, 6766 Main Street, in Miami Lakes. Tickets are $20 for general admission, $15 for seniors and students, and $12 for prepaid groups of more than twenty people. Parking at the Main Street Playhouse is free.
