The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Center is Now Hosting COMMUNE FOR ARTS

The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Center is now presenting Commune for Arts, through December. Commune for Arts integrates creative arts into mental health care while providing a supportive environment to bring communities together.

Sessions take place every weekend from October to December 2021, in the following categories:

- Dance & Movement Therapy

- Therapeutic Writing

- Art Therapy

Commune for Arts is supported by CENDANA Malaysia, in collaboration with the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre & Malaysian Mental Health Association.

The program offers the use of artistic expression in an encouraging and supportive environment to effect positive change and personal growth while fostering a sense of community.

Goals:

1. To promote the therapeutic value and the positive well-being message associated with art-making, at a personal and societal level.

2. To facilitate a safe and welcoming space for the community, especially for individuals living with mental health issues.

3. Expand and contribute to the development of accessibility, representation, inclusivity, and diversity within the arts scene in Malaysia.

4. To integrate arts into the community; to bring people together through art-making.
