International Festival And Ladysmith Black Mambazo Feature at Overture

International Festival, an annual free, day-long festival that celebrates the cultural heritage in the community, returns to Overture Center for 2018 on Saturday, Feb. 24., from 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in conjunction with an 8 p.m. performance by South Africa's Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

Celebrate the rich cultural heritage in the community and enjoy more than 30 free performances throughout Overture by artists who call Dane County home. Indulge in cuisines from around the world ($5-$10), browse stunning arts and crafts available for purchase and learn about the many local businesses with global connections. See attachment for full schedule and list of vendors. For the first time this year, select performances will be livestreamed to Overture's Facebook page from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. This will provide an opportunity for those unable to attend to see some of the performers and learn more about International Festival.

For over 50 years, South Africa's Ladysmith Black Mambazo has warmed the hearts of audiences worldwide with their uplifting vocal harmonies, signature dance moves and charming onstage banter. With a deep respect for both their cultural and personal history, Ladysmith Black Mambazo is ever-evolving with an eye toward their long musical legacy. The public onsale for On Your Feet: The Emilio & Gloria Estefan Broadway Musical also begins on Saturday., Feb. 24 at 9 a.m. in person and 10 a.m. by phone/online.
