  3. Cuarteto Simón Bolívar

Created within the Music Foundation Simón Bolívar, known worldwide under the name of "El Sistema", the quartet consists of four musicians from the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela. "El Sistema", the Venezuelan state organization founded by José Antonio Abreu, is dedicated to training and collective practice of music through symphony orchestras and choirs. His greatest achievement is reflected in the 400,000 children, often disadvantaged, attending music schools across the country. The most famous personality who comes is the conductor Gustavo Dudamel, now known worldwide. The quartet was born of the need for these musicians to get in touch with chamber music, also in favor of children and young people from diverse communities. The quartet has worked with chefs such as Claudio Abbado and Sir Simon Rattle with the Cuarteto Latinoamericano, the Philharmonia Quartet Berlin, Donald Weilerstein (Cleveland Quartet) and András Keller (Keller Quartet). Between 2010 and 2012, the quartet has undertaken extensive tours in the United Kingdom, Canada and Japan. His schedule for 2013/2014 includes concerts at the Salzburg Festival, the Berlin Philharmonic at the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, the Musikverein in Vienna and the Palau de la Musica in Barcelona. The quartet recorded their first album, released in February 2013 on Deutsche Grammophon.
