Keep calm, and put your head into the oven.

Three couples; three kitchens; three different years. In this darkly disastrous and wildly funny comedy, award-winning British playwright Alan Ayckbourn shows just how much you can tell about a couple from the condition of their kitchen. Take a look at the Hopcrofts; shiny new gadgets and money for a remodel; the Jacksons, not-too-tidy and a filthy oven; and the Brewster-Wrights with aging decor, broken boiler, and a total lack of heat.

As each couple tries unsuccessfully to throw a party on Christmas Eve, we witness the rise of the Hopcrofts to material prosperity, and watch the decline of the Jacksons and the Brewster-Wrights. The play's final scenes reveal the "little man" to be well and truly on top, with the others, literally and unnervingly, dancing to his tune.

"This play manages to be both hilarious and heartbreaking," says Montgomery. "It's brilliantly written, the characters are so recognizable and believable, yet their actions are completely absurd. I am delighted to have this wry and entertaining show inaugurate an exciting collaboration between Coal Creek Theater of Louisville and Theater Company of Lafayette, two important Boulder County theaters. The cast and crew eagerly look forward to delighting the audiences of both communities."

"Walks a zigzag line between comedy and farce and often manages to be staggeringly funny." - Newsweek.
