Spirited Away at National Theater, Taipei

TOHO's stage adaptation of Studio Ghibli's Oscar-winning animated film, performed in Japanese by a company of 50 actors, puppeteers, and musicians as part of its 2026–2028 world tour. The production is directed and co-adapted by John Caird, with set design by Jon Bausor, puppets by Toby Olié, choreography by Shigehiro Ide, and costumes by Sachiko Nakahara. The story follows Chihiro, who stumbles into a spirit world ruled by the sorceress Yubaba and must find a way to free her parents and return home. The Taipei engagement marks the beginning of the international world tour leg.
