Oscar-winner Catherine Zeta-Jones and Hugh Jackman hosted a star-studded evening, "A Fine Romance," celebrating the love affair between Broadway and Hollywood on Saturday, October 20 at Sony Pictures Entertainment (Culver City, CA) for the third annual benefit the Motion Picture & Television Fund.

Accompanied by a live orchestra under the baton of the Hollywood Bowl's John Mauceri, an array of singers from film and stage musicals performed the songs that have tied both coasts together for decades.  Guest stars included Christine Baranski, Kristin Chenoweth, Raúl Esparza, Jennifer Hudson, Audra McDonald, Shirley MacLaine, Chita Rivera, Dick Van Dyke and Vanessa Williams performing songs from movies that became Broadway musicals and Broadway musicals that have become movies. The theme for the event was based on the book "A Fine Romance" by longtime MPTF supporter Darcie Denkert.

The event was produced by Laurence Mark (Dreamgirls) and Dan Jinks (American Beauty); directed by Bill Condon with musical direction by Hollywood Bowl conductor John Mauceri at Sony Pictures Entertainment (10202 W. Washington Boulevard, Culver City, CA).  Event chair persons were Ann Gianopulos and Jim Gianopulos.

During the event, the Motion Picture & Television Fund honored the prestigious Silver Medallion Award to Thomas C. Short, I.A.T.S.E International President, in recognition of his leadership as a member of the MPTF Corporate and Foundation Boards.  For more information about MPTF visit www.mptvfund.org.
