The notoriety of don't tell mama includes the infamous "open mic" - the predecessor to reality television competitions. As well, don't tell mama is legendary for the surprise appearances and performances of visiting Broadway and Pop singers, whether touring in major theatrical productions or just out of the recording studio. You never know whom you will see, or hear, at don't tell mama!
