World Premiere of DIFFERENT WORDS FOR THE SAME THING to Begin 5/4 at CTG's Kirk Douglas Theatre

By:

"different words for the same thing" by Kimber Lee will be directed by Neel Keller in its World Premiere at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre. Previews begin May 4 for a May 11th opening. The show continues through June 1, 2014.

Set in a small town in southwestern Idaho, and the vast spaces that surround it, Kimber Lee's "different words for the same thing" depicts the intersecting lives of the townspeople as they deal with the web of love, tradition, religion, politics and heartbreak that connect them all. In a series of intimate, deeply felt scenes, Lee introduces Marta and Henry, three generations of their family, and many of their friends and neighbors. All are linked to the heartbeat and daily life of the community in ways reminiscent of Thornton Wilder's classic "Our Town."

Previews: (May 4 - 10): Sunday at 6:30 p.m.; Tuesday through Saturday at 8 p.m. Opens May 11 at 6:30 p.m. Regular Performances (Beginning May 13): Tuesday through Friday at 8 p.m.; Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; Sunday at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. No performance on Mondays.
