Offering a private visit with history's most haunted first lady, the brand new one-person play, 'The Ghosts of Mary Lincoln,' written by Drama Critics Circle Award-winning playwright Tom Dugan, will run workshop performances in Beverly Hills at Theatre 40, 241 South Moreno Drive, July 31, Aug. 5-7, 12-14, and 19-21 at 8p.m.

Tickets will be available for $25 at (310) 364-0535 or at the door.

Starring award-winning actress Michele Tauber, 'The Ghosts of Mary Lincoln' includes tales of white house séances, presidential grave robbers, warnings from the undead, and the fateful night at Fords Theatre.

For this first-time run of 'The Ghosts of Mary Lincoln,' Dugan will welcome the audience to participate in a post-performance discussion to offer feedback on the play as part of the creative process for developing the script.

The workshop performances are in preparation for the University of West Georgia commissioned 'The Ghosts of Mary Lincoln' performance at the Townsend Arts Center where the play will make its world premiere October 15-18, 2013.

Says Dugan of the workshop performances, "These previews are an integral part of my creative process. Following each performance the audience gets a chance to tell me what worked, what didn't and why. From there I do the rewrites and test out the new material in front of the next night's audience. It is a fascinating and very satisfying process."

'The Ghosts of Mary Lincoln' is directed by Jenny Sullivan, who also directs another of Dugan's critically acclaimed plays, 'Wiesenthal,' which premieres off-Broadway in March 2014.

Tom Dugan is a veteran actor and playwright who received the 2011 Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Solo Performance and was winner of three 2011 Los Angeles Ovation Award nominations for his work in 'Wiesenthal.'

Written by playwright Tom Dugan, 'The Ghosts of Mary Lincoln' offers a private visit with America's most haunted first lady, Mary Todd Lincoln, as portrayed by award-winning actress Michele Tauber. Set on a dark and stormy night, 'The Ghosts of Mary Lincoln' is an evening of blood, madness and murder.

Michele Tauber is a familiar face on the New York stage and many of the most respected American Regional Theaters. A classically trained actress, Tauber is an award-winning, versatile performer with a facility for dozens of stage dialects. Michele received her MFA from The University of Delaware.
