On Friday, June 9, 2006, Vitello's Italian Restaurant in Studio City, CA will open "Sterling's Upstairs," an all-new supper club that will present the best of Broadway, cabaret and nightclub artists. Performances will be presented twice nightly on Fridays and Saturdays with 6:30 pm and 9:00 pm seatings. A four-course, prix-fixe menu will be set at $25.00 per person, with a $40.00 entertainment cover charge (which may vary depending upon the performer).

"Sterling's Upstairs" will be produced by Michael Sterling of Michael Sterling & Associates, the Sherman Oaks-based entertainment public relations company. Since 1980, Sterling has represented such stellar clients as Elizabeth Taylor, Lance Armstrong, Scott Hamilton, David Copperfield, Joan Collins, Alan Thicke, David Brenner, Andy Gibb, and Robert Goulet. Aside from his celebrity clientele, Sterling has represented various National Theatre and arena tours, Los Angeles theatre productions, Emmy Award-winning television specials, celebrity books and albums. Sterling is also a critically-acclaimed director of musical comedy theatre in Los Angeles, and has produced various theatrical events and productions throughout southern California.

Sterling has partnered with Vitello's new owner, Matt Epstein, one of the most prominent and successful realtors in the East San Fernando Valley. Popular musical theatre, nightclub, television and recording star Joan Ryan will consult with Sterling and also periodically headline the club as its artist-in-residence.

"There are virtually no Broadway/Cabaret/Nightclubs in the San Fernando Valley and barely any in the greater Los Angeles area," says Sterling. "I can't think of a more appropriate venue than Vitello's to present this very special type of entertainment to San Fernando Valley/Los Angeles area residents who are true patrons of the arts and have been longing for the opportunity to see some of their favorite performers at affordable prices."

Matt Epstein concurs. "The addition of distinguished Broadway, Cabaret and Nightclub performers in our all new, intimate showroom at Vitello's, only furthers the diversity of the restaurant and its ambition to provide the best experience in dining and live entertainment."

In addition to the upcoming opening of "Sterling's Upstairs at Vitello's," the restaurant also offers outdoor dining, a luncheon buffet, and a unique variety of carefully selected wines. Widescreen plasma televisions are located throughout the restaurant. Live opera (a long-time feature at Vitello's) is still performed in the restaurant's downstairs Green Room four nights a week. Classic Movie and Dinner night, jazz, and special one-night, monthly entertainment supper club events are also entertainment choices. To date, the special monthly events have included popular music groups from the 50's and 60's such as The Drifters, The Platters, The Coasters, and The Shirelles. On May 18, 2006 Vitello's will present The Temptations. Seatings are at 6:00 pm and 8:30 pm and set at $50.00 per person.

An initial roster of performers at "Sterling's Upstairs at Vitello's" will be announced by May 15, 2006.
