Celebrated violinist Itzhak Perlman returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall, Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at 8 p.m., to perform in a recital featuring music by Jean-Marie Leclair, Ludwig van Beethoven and Camille Saint-Saëns. Joining him is pianist Rohan De Silva, with whom he tours frequently. De Silva made his Walt Disney Concert Hall debut in January of 2008, when he shared the stage with Perlman in a Colburn Celebrity series performance. The concert is part of the Los Angeles Philharmonic's 2010/11 Colburn Celebrity series, which features some of the world's leading virtuosos.

Perlman is the ultimate superstar violinist, beloved the world over for his virtuosity and humanity, in particular for his devotion to the causes of the disabled. In January of 2009, he
took part in the inauguration of President Barack Obama, premiering a piece written for the occasion by John Williams and performing with clarinetist Anthony McGill, pianist
Gabriela Montera and cellist Yo-Yo Ma. This season, Perlman and De Silva delighted audiences in Japan and South Korea with nine recitals throughout those countries.

Rohan De Silva's partnerships with violin virtuosos - in addition to Perlman, he performs frequently with Cho-Liang Lin, Midori, Joshua Bell, Benny Kim, Kyoto Takezawa, Vadim Repin, Gil Shaham, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg and Julian Rachlin - have led to highly-acclaimed performances at recital venues all over the world.

Future performances for the 2010/11 Colburn Celebrity recital series season include: pianist Simon Trp?eski (February 22, 2011); pianist Yefim Bronfman (March 9, 2011); and flutist Sir James Galway and the Emerson String Quartet (March 14, 2011).
