Ugly Betty star Michael Urie, Hamish Linklater, Wendie Malick, Dan Lauria and Tom O'Keefe will star in a staged reading of the play, The Crowd You're In With, Monday, April 21, 8 p.m at The Hayworth.  Directed by Amy Glazer and written by Rebecca Gilman, The Crowd You're In With is a production of The Hayworth Theatre's popular Bruno Kirby Celebrity Reading Series, it was announced today by The Hayworth Theater Co-Founders Danna Hyams, Producing Director, and Gary Blumsack, Artistic Director.

"To breed or not to breed? That is the question that rears its thorny little head at an intimate backyard barbeque hosted by 30 something aspiring parents Melinda and Jasper.  Their best friends, Dan and Windsong are pregnant and supportive and alternately consoling and cheerleading from the sidelines in the hopes that they can raise their babies together.  Tom and Karen, their 50 something landlords, find themselves in the hot seat when they reveal they are childless by choice. Older and wiser? Windsong thinks not. Jasper thinks maybe. Melinda wonders who she married. Tensions flare as hidden doubts, fears, emotions and judgments about life, love, loneliness, friendship and family are unearthed. Some resolved and others swept back into the darkness from whence they came in surprising but not uncommon ways," press notes state.

The Bruno Kirby Reading Series premiered last June with Lou Diamond Phillips' Burning Desire, starring Phillips, Amy Smart and Michael Urie.  Highlights of the Reading Series also include: Chandra Wilson and Paul Mazursky in a reading of Josh Greenfeld's Canal Street; Sopranos star Ray Abruzzo and Paul Ben-Victor starred in Machiavelli, by Pulitzer Prize nominated playwright Richard Vetere; Rex Lee, Mackenzie Phillips and Beth Grant in a staged reading of the screenplay Daybreak; and Jerry O'Connell and Hamish Linklater in a reading of Badge. The series is named for the beloved late actor and showcases "celebrities who are dedicated to theatre." Kirby was known for his work in Lost In Yonkers, This is Spinal Tap, Good Morning Vietnam, When Harry Met Sally, The Godfather II and The Freshman.

The Crowd You're In With will be presented on the Main Stage for one performance, Monday, April 21 at 8:00 p.m.  The Hayworth Theatre is located at 2509 Wilshire Blvd. two blocks east of Rampart near downtown Los Angeles.
