Cornerstone Theater Company has announced just a few of the extraordinary artists taking part in The 24 Hour Plays Los Angeles on Saturday, June 11 at 6pm at The Moss Theater at the Herb Alpert Educational Village at New Roads School in Santa Monica. Tickets are available for $150 and include admission to a reception with the artists following the performance. The 24 Hour Plays Los Angeles will serve as the company's major fundraiser for the year. For more information and tickets visit http://cornerstonetheater.org/24hourplays.

The 24 Hour Plays Los Angeles is bringing together 6 writers, 6 directors and 24 actors that will undergo the ultimate theatrical challenge by creating and performing 6 plays within 24 hours. The performance will feature a cast of special guests including Andree Vermeulen (Angie Tribeca), Eisa Davis (House of Cards), Tracie Thoms (Rent, Cold Case), Kathe Mazur (Major Crimes) and Baron Vaughn (Grace and Frankie) among other stars still to be announced and Cornerstone Theater ensemble members including MC Earl, Peter Howard, Page Leong and Bahni Turpin.

The 24 Hour Plays Los Angeles participating writers include Juliette Carrillo (Plumas Negras and Ghost Town), Larissa FastHorse (Average Family, Urban Rez, What Would Crazy Horse Do?), Tom Jacobson (The Beloved Disciple, Cyberqueer, Degenerate Art), Jennifer Rowland (The Indians are Coming to Dinner) and Craig Wright (Six Feet Under, Dirty Sexy Money). The list of directors welcomes Chris Anthony (Conquista en Juego, When the Man Comes Around, The Cursed Gift), Alejandra Cisneros (El Verde!, In Love and Warcraft, The Wrath of Kahlo), Shishir Kurup (Cleveland Raining, Ten Angry Clowns), Diane Rodriguez (Living Large In a Mini Kind of Way, Latins Anonymous), Julie Hebért (American Crime, ER, Numb3rs) and Mark Valdez (Our Town, DJ Latinidad).

Cornerstone Theater Company's Artistic Director, Michael John Garcés, has been a longtime collaborator with The 24 Hour Plays as both a playwright and director, both on and off Broadway, and is thrilled to have the collaboration of the two organizations now come together in Los Angeles.

"The 24 Hour Plays Los Angeles ties directly into Cornerstone Theater Company's mission of making new plays with and about communities and inviting past community actors and Cornerstone Ensemble members to be a part of this unique production," commented Garcés. "This is the first time The 24 Hour Plays has been to Los Angeles since 2014 and is a rare opportunity for Angelenos to experience this type of live theater where anything can happen."

"After a few years away, we're delighted to bring The 24 Hour Plays back to Los Angeles in this unique partnership with a company whose mission we couldn't support more," said Mark Armstrong, Executive Director of The 24 Hour Plays. "Bringing a diverse group of artists together to have an extraordinary experience that celebrates community is what both Cornerstone and The 24 Hour Plays do. I can't wait to see what happens when we do it together."

Tickets start at the $150 and include admission to the wine and dessert reception with the artists following the performance. Event committee and sponsorship opportunities are available. Tickets can be purchased online at http://cornerstonetheater.org/24hourplays.
