Theatre @ Boston Court Awarded American Theatre Wing National Theatre Company Grant

By:

The Theatre @ Boston Court has been recognized with a National Theatre Company Grant, provided by American Theatre Wing, Founder of the Tony Awards.

“We couldn’t be more proud to be the only California theater recognized by American Theatre Wing this year,” said Michael Seel, Boston Court’s Executive Director, “It certainly fuels our passion to create theatre.”

The American Theatre Wing has long shown its dedication to not-for-profit theatres through its Theatre Company Grants Program. The ATW Grants have distributed some $3 million dollars over the past 55 years.

The National Theatre Company Grants, launched in 2010, distributes $10,000 grants for general operating support to companies which, according to grant guidelines, have been in operation at least five, but not more than fifteen years, have articulated a distinctive mission, cultivated an audience, and nurtured a community of artists in ways that strengthen and demonstrate the quality, diversity, and dynamism of American theatre.

In addition to The Theatre @ Boston Court, grantees include Actors Shakespeare Project (Somerville, MA), ArtsWest (Seattle, WA), CityRep (Oklahoma City, OK), Know Theatre of Cincinnati, NC Stage (Asheville, NC), The New Jersey Repertory, The Rogue Theatre (Tucson, AZ), The Play Company (New York City) and Upstream Theater (St. Louis, MO).

The Theatre @ Boston Court is the award-winning resident theatre company at Boston Court Performing Arts Center in Pasadena, CA. Michael Seel, Executive Director, Jessica Kubzansky and Michael Michetti, Co-Artistic Directors, Hillary Metcalf, Managing Director.
