The Chemical Brothers, Chromeo, and YACHT Debut at the Hollywood Bowl KCRW's Music Director and host of Morning Becomes Eclectic Jason Bentley Hosts KCRW's World Festival

SUNDAY, AUGUST 29, 2010, AT 7 PM
Known for their mind-blowing live shows, the Chemical Brothers debut at the Hollywood Bowl. They are on tour in support of their June 2010 release Further, their 7th studio album and culminationation of nearly two decades of psychedelic exploration. Filter magazine calls Further, "...swirling, dizzying, disorienting and hypnotizing...The Chemical Brothers have perfected a soft fusion of sound that delights and enraptures." The four-time Grammy winners met at Manchester University over twenty years ago and made musical history, having pioneered the genre of big beat electronica.

Electrofunk duo Chromeo, best friends and producers Dave One (David Macklovitch) and P-Thugg (Patrick Gemayel), have successfully made the music festival rounds, playing Bonnaroo, Glastonbury, and Lollapalooza, whipping crowds into a dance frenzy with their contagious 80s-influenced beats. The duo also joined one of their main influencers, Daryl Hall, at his enclave to record a session with him for the webcast series "Live from Daryl's House." Chromeo is on tour in support of Business Causal, the anticipated September 2010 follow-up to their mainstream breakthrough 2007's Fancy Footwork.

YACHT is mostly a genre-and-media-spanning life project founded and led by Jona Bechtolt. YACHT's heart is the shows: uncluttered, inspiring sessions of damaged dance moves and synchronized crowd-waving, backed by constantly changing elements in a variety of possible forms. Former guest vocalist and now permanent band member Claire E. Evans joins Bechtolt for their Bowl debut. Pitchfork deemed YACHT's 2009 release See Mystery Lights a "triumph" and BBC Music praised it as "engaging, inspiring and, most of all, an awful lot of fun." Special guests will be joining YACHT for their venue debut performance.
