The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica announces the artists of the 2018 Celebrity Opera Series, which commences on January 15 with Jonas Kaufmann with Helmut Deutsch, piano; followed by El?na Garan?a with orchestra conducted by Karl Mark Chichon on March 3; and Angela Gheorghiu and Vittorio Grigolo with orchestra conducted by Eugene Kohn on May 1.

The Celebrity Opera Series is made possible by generous support from The Lloyd E. Rigler-Lawrence E. Deutsch Foundation. The Foundation continues to make contributions to strengthen the concert series at The Broad Stage and enrich the cultural life of Los Angeles.

Tickets are on sale now at thebroadstage.org or by calling 310-434-3200.

The international press has singled Jonas Kaufmann out as the "new king of tenors." Insiders praise him as the most important German tenor since Fritz Wunderlich. And now, Jonas Kaufmann makes his long-anticipated Broad Stage debut in a recital, performing one of the greatest song cycles of all times, Schubert's Die schöne Müllerin.

Returning to the site of her US recital debut, Latvian mezzo-soprano El?na Garan?a has ascended to operatic superstardom over the past decade. Joined by a full orchestra under the baton of international Maestro, Karel Mark Chichon, the concert favorite and multiple award winner will perform a program of sensuous and alluring arias on March 3.

The great opera stars Angela Gheorghiu and Vittorio Grigolo join forces for a concert of thrilling arias and duets. Performing together at The Broad Stage for the first time, don't miss this exclusive pairing of two international icons in concert for one night only on May 1.
