Featuring over 20 Grammy Award winner, John Mayer tunes, this original story of young love, road trips, heartbreak, and friendship springs to life for the first time in this intimate workshop production featuring a cast of actor/musicians and all-new arrangements by San Diego's own Leonard Patton.

"Contrary to what you might think, this is not an autobiographical musical of John Mayer's life. Much of the show's score is heard in a different context than when it was originally written," says the show's librettist Jordan Beck, who along with J. Scott Lapp produces the popular monthly cabaret series. "I'm looking forward to developing this exciting new project in Southern California with this talented group of Singer/Songwriters", say's Lapp, "With Mayer's full catalogue as a resource to the construction of the show, we have an incredible challenge to present this great music in a thrilling new format. Audiences are going to love the unique way this story is being told."

A new, intimate theatre experience has been created by putting the audience in and around the action of the show! Join us for the final production in our new Summer Series, which allows you to be as close as you can to the performance! Seating is VERY limited - only 70 seats (maximum) available for each performance in The Merc.
