Susannah Blinkoff Brings DAUGHTER OF... to the Hollywood Fringe Tonight

By:

Multi-talented singer/songwriter Susannah Blinkoff will bring her solo show Daughter of ... , directed by Stan Zimmerman, to the Hollywood Fringe Festival for five performances only at Three Clubs Cocktail Lounge beginning tonight, June 7 at 9pm.

Daughter of ... is Blinkoff's tale of growing up backstage in Manhattan as the daughter of a successful songwriter. This musical memoir features songs written by her mother Carol Hall (The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Free to Be You and Me) as well as her own pop-rock tunes. With an up close view of Whorehouse as it developed from workshop to long-running Broadway show to major Hollywood film, Blinkoff experienced firsthand the privileges and pitfalls of being the daughter of an accomplished artist. Daughter of ... bursts showbiz bubbles and celebrates Blinkoff's creative heritage.

Performance dates and times are as follows -- Saturday 6/7 at 9pm (press preview); Thursday 6/12 at 6pm; Tuesday 6/17 at 6pm; Monday 6/23 at 8pm; and Sunday 6/29 at 6pm.

As a singer/songwriter, Susannah Blinkoff has played Hotel Cafe, Genghis Cohen, Spaceland, The Mint, M Bar, and more. Her songs have been heard on MTV, in the feature films My Super Ex-Girlfriend and Bellyfruit, on more than 200 college radio stations across the country, and most recently topping the charts on FM radio in Hawaii and Nebraska. Born and raised in New York City, Blinkoff began singing professionally at the age of 12. As an actress, she has appeared on Broadway and in numerous TV movies, sitcoms, and plays on both coasts. She is also a published playwright and screenwriter.

Stan Zimmerman is a writer, producer, and director. With his writing partner James Berg, Zimmerman worked on such classic series as The Golden Girls and Roseanne (penning the now infamous 'lesbian kiss' episode), both of which received WGA Award nominations for Best Comedy Writing. Other television writing credits include The Gilmore Girls, the Lifetime sitcom Rita Rocks (which he and Berg also created), and both Brady Bunch movies. Zimmerman has written for Emmy Magazine and starred in Situation: Comedy, a Bravo series produced by Sean Hayes. His stage directing credits include the 30th anniversary revival of Gemini at Celebration Theatre, A Tuna Christmas (Theatre Asylum), Blink & You Might Miss Me (Hollywood Fringe and SF Fringe), and Entertaining Mr. Sloane (Actors Company). Zimmerman is also directing his original comedy play Meet & Greet for this year's Hollywood Fringe Festival.

The Hollywood Fringe Festival is an annual, open-access, community-derived event celebrating freedom of expression and collaboration in the performing arts community. Each June during the Hollywood Fringe, the arts infiltrate the Hollywood neighborhood: fully equipped theaters, parks, clubs, churches, restaurants and other unexpected places host hundreds of productions by local, national, and international arts companies and independent performers.

Tickets for Daughter of ... are now on sale and may be obtained online at www.hollywoodfringe.org or by phone at (323) 455-4585. Three Clubs Cocktail Lounge is located at 1123 Vine Street in Hollywood (NW corner of Santa Monica Boulevard), 90038. Street and lot parking are available.
