SAVIN' UP FOR SATURDAY NIGHT Opens at Grove Theatre 10/22

By:

"Authentic, romantic and loads of fun!" "Exuberant and fresh!" "Clever and tuneful!" Those are just a few of the raves that reviewers gave last year's World Premiere "honky-tonk" musical SAVIN' UP FOR SATURDAY NIGHT, which opens a new run at the Grove Theatre in Upland on October 22nd.

This is the show that wow-ed audiences and critics too at its world premiere
last year! Featuring a hot country band of top pickers, world-class dancers, and a terrific cast including some wonderful local talent, SAVIN' UP FOR SATURDAY NIGHT is one show you don't want to miss. If you love country, you're going to love this. And if you think you don't, SAVIN' UP FOR SATURDAY NIGHT just might change your mind with 20 great songs, including the classic, "Let's Do Something Cheap and Superficial" originally a hit for Burt Reynolds! Plus, everyone loves laughs, so this show has plenty of those, too!

In Jeff Goode and Richard Levinson's new musical comedy, the action takes place at the 'Honky-Tonk Bar 'n' Fill' under the watchful eye of 'Doc,' the bartender. A bunch of 'dance floor demons' hit the floor to the music of a topnotch country band led by his old high school buddy Eldridge Preston, who seems to think he is the star of the place. But that title really should go to his ex-wife Lucinda, who used to be in Eldridge's show and can dance and sing (and party) anyone under the table. On this particular night, Eldridge is going to introduce the regulars to his newest singer and latest flame, Patsy. But nobody can predict the consequences -- least of all Doc, who by night's end might get what, or who, he's always wanted. And through it all, the music, dancing and laughs never stop.

Tickets to see SAVIN' UP FOR SATURDAY NIGHT can be purchased by calling (909) 920-4343, by going to the Grove's box office at 276 E. Ninth Street, Upland, CA or by visiting www.grovetheatre.com.
