Rita Wilson And Tom Hanks Sponsor eBay Giving Works Audition To Benefit Shakespeare Festival, Auction Ends 5/11

Shakespeare Festival/LA (SF/LA), a professional and community-based non-profit theater company, is auctioning off a speaking role alongside Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks in the 2009 Simply Shakespeare adaptation of “The Comedy of Errors” under the direction of Ben Donenberg, founding Artistic Director, SF/LA. The winner will participate in rehearsal, gain admission to the VIP post-show party and take a group photo with the cast, which the cast will all sign. The auction began May 1 and will end at 7pm PDT on May 11, 2009.

The winning bidder not only gets to perform with Rita & Tom, but also with the host of other notable talents who have graciously donated their time to take part in the play, including Christina Applegate, Martin Short, Shirley Jones, Peter Graves, Arte Johnson and more.  

All proceeds from the eBay auction support Shakespeare Festival/LA and its nationally replicated summer youth employment and enrichment initiatives targeting young people living under severe economic strains. 

Shakespeare Festival/LA’s performance of “The Comedy of Errors” will take place on Monday, May 18th at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles.
